Meghan Markle’s nephew, 25, is currently working on a very sincere and green wedding gift for his aunt’s big day.
Tyler Dooley is giving his new strain the name: “Markle’s Sparkle” in honour of his aunt.
Markle is best known for her role as Rachel Zane in legal drama Suits and is marrying UK’s Prince Harry, who is fifth in line to the throne on May 19.
Dooley is growing his marijuana in the state of Oregon, where recreational marijuana has long been legal.
The marijuana enthusiast said he would be “more than happy” to offer the royal couple a sample and educate them on marijuana if they visit him in Oregon.
“I’d be happy to show them around if they ever come out here and educate them on the medicinal benefits of marijuana which helps everything from post-traumatic stress syndrome to insomnia to pain in cancer patients,” he told the Daily Mail in an interview.
The nephew, who remembers Markle babysitting him as a child, is the son of Markle’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr, Dooley.
While Dooley hasn’t spoken to his famous aunt in three years, he expects Markle to have more of a progressive take on cannabis.
“Meghan grew up in California and I am sure has an American view on pot.”
“I know in England that marijuana is still a taboo subject but it’s more normal to us here because we grew up around it in high school. Everybody experiments with it here.”
Asked about what would Prince Harry’s stance on marijuana be, he said: “Prince Harry enjoys a good party.”
Dooley touts himself as a “pioneer” in the marijuana business, and comes from a family that fully embraces the green herb.
Dooley’s mother Tracy, 52, who is in marketing, advertises for marijuana dispensaries. His brother says he gives special marijuana for pets to his dog for pain relief.
