3 Arrested After Cultivating 4,834 Marijuana Plants In California County

Authorities in a northern California county arrested three people after finding 4,834 marijuana plants growing on a property, CBS13 reported on Friday.

On Thursday, members of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team found the marijuana plants on a 5-acre property on Southworth Road.

The three people arrested were: Yi Lin (58) of Marlton, NJ, Ni Kong (57) of New York, Ni Shao (51) of Seattle, WA. They were arrested for illegal marijuana cultivation, maintaining a drug house and criminal conspiracy.

The marijuana plants were found growing in the front yard and in enclosed structures. Several generators, housed in structures with insulation and foam padding, were found running.
