DEA: New slang names for marijuana include “Shrimp” or “Mowing the Lawn”

Prosecutors change policy for cannabis smuggling in Arizona

Most Americans may be familiar with the common names for cannabis such as marijuana, weed or pot, but there are now some new terms on the market.

This month, the federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) released a new list of slang terms that cannabis is being called on the streets of Massachusetts.

Some of the common ones are “reefer”, “pot,” and “weed” or obviously the well-known “marijuana”, but some of the not so common ones that have recently become popular are “Shrimp,” “Smoochy Woochy Poochy,” and “My Brother.”

To add to the new list are “Popcorn,” “Arizona,” “Fluffy,” “Baby,” “Mowing the Lawn,” “Big Pillows,” and “Salt and Pepper.”

As cannabis becomes more common more names may be added to the list.
