Cannabis farm in Uganda is in the works for Israel’s Together Pharma

Israel’s Together Pharma Ltd. is setting up a cannabis farm in Uganda, the Times of Israel reported.

Together has already placed an order for cannabis seeds from a Dutch supplier for the cannabis farm in Uganda.

The manufacturer and distributor of medical cannabis Together is targeting sales of marijuana produce for January 2019.

“The order of the seeds represents an important milestone towards growing cannabis on a farm in Uganda and marketing produce to a Canadian customer by the beginning of next year,” Together CEO Nissim Bracha said in a statement.

Not only Uganda but Together is also setting up a farm in Israel to feed local demand, where “significant growth” is expected.

It is also working to promote the medical cannabis sector in North America and Europe, which are “markets with large economic potential for us.”

Local marijuana farmers were anticipating Israel opening up its export market. However, exports are not allowed following a ban enforced by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The ban has resulted in Israeli marijuana businesses looking abroad to cash in money from the green herb.
