Liberals Approve Dräger DrugTest 5000

Big news coming out of Ottawa in the last week when Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould approved the Dräger DrugTest 5000 as the first of its kind to be used in roadside saliva tests.
The Dräger DrugTest 5000 is an automated screening system used to give instant results from
a saliva sample performed roadside in minutes without the need for blood or urine samples.This. Before the approval of the Dräger 5000, law enforcement had concern on how to effectively test for whether a driver was impaired on Cannabis and other substances.
The Manufacture says it can meet the demand of the system within the next 4-6 weeks. However, the decision to purchase and use the Dräger 5000 will be up to the police forces. Aside from Cannabis the test will also show positive results for other substances such as Cocaine and Methamphetamine.
