Did Walmart, Amazon, Home Depot Sign a Deal With an American Cannabis Company?

Despite the US federal government’s shunning of the cannabis industry, more deals are emerging between traditional giants and the not so conventional cannabis companies.

Last week, the American Cannabis Company, Inc. (OTCQB: AMMJ) (“ACC”) signed a distribution deal to sell two cannabis-related products online through the big three retail giants: Walmart, The Home Depot, and Amazon.

The Denver-based company’s two products: SoHum Living Soils® for potting mix and Dr. Marijane Root Probiotic will soon be available to US consumers to purchase online.

The two products are both for non-human consumption. The SoHum Living Soils is a fully amended, pH-buffered potting mix that acts as a “just add water” super soil for cannabis and non-cannabis crop cultivation.

The Dr. Marijane Root Probiotic contains “beneficial microbes” that growers can add to their soil or soil-free growing mediums.

Terry Buffalo, CEO of American Cannabis Company, also signaled his determination to keep on selling his cannabis-laced products.

There are 29 US states that have legalized medical marijuana and about nine others where recreational cannabis is legal. But the US Attorney General Jeff Sessions since January has tightened his grip on legal cannabis operations in these states as he considers marijuana illegal on a federal level.

The crackdown by Sessions has left cannabis businesses roiling, confused on where to put their green cash as US banks didn’t want to enter high-risk deals.

Undeterred, Buffalo said his company “will continue to evaluate other online sales platform opportunities as they present themselves.”

He added:

“We are committed to getting our products out in the market and into the hands of the cultivators who can truly benefit from these solutions that we provide.”

So far, the American Cannabis Company was able to make its deal with the big three giants because it is a seller of ancillary products to the cannabis industry, which revolves around “not touching the plant.”

The two products it will be distributed through Walmart, Amazon, Home Depot are – again – for non-human consumption.

But, maybe it is just a start!
